A huge amount of plastic bottles are used and discarded every day, with 80% of them simply becoming non-biodegradable waste which directly or indirectly severely effects our own environment. Plastic bottles have a significant carbon footprint. However, there is very good way to reuse these. So, best out of waste with plastic bottles is a very creative way to showcase your craft skills as well as how to decorate your room with plastic bottles.
So, the question is,
How do you decorate plastic bottles?
An easy way to keep your desk organised, a plastic bottle can be cut into different sizes to keep your pens and scissors in place. You can also decorate it with colored papers or quilled designs; no one will even know what’s underneath! If you want to add some greeneries in your home, plastic bottles can also be used as planters with come indoor plants. And there are lots more ideas.

Here I have described about two methods. I have mainly used acrylic colors and jute burlap to decorate them. Some of them I have used as planters and some are as penstands.
So go through the below DIY plastic bottle craft ideas.
Best out of waste with plastic bottles: DIY 1
Things you need:
- Plastic bottles / containers
- Acrylic colors
- Cone liners
- Brushes
- Varnish
So, once you have collected all the materials required for the DIY as described above, you can follow the simple steps I have mentioned below.
Steps:
- First of all if the container or bottle is wrapped by paper, soak the container for at least 30mins in luke warm water with few drops of soap.
- After that remove the seal by rubbing it and clean it and pat dry.
- For this particular container, I have used white acrylic color as a base. Use 2-3 coats. You can use metallic/pearl white color. Let it dry for few hours.
- Then draw the design of your choice and color it. let it dry again for few hours.
- Lastly give a thin coat of varnish which will make it durable and water resistance.
- So, that it.. your best out of waste work is ready.
- I am using them as planter. If you are using it with soil, don’t forget to make a drainage hole at the bottom.
- You can also use it as a pen stand or whatever you like.
Best out of waste with plastic bottles: DIY 2
Things you need:
- plastic bottles / container
- Jute burlap
- Jute rope
- Glue
- Cone liner
So, once you have collected all the materials required for the DIY as described above, you can follow the simple steps I have mentioned below.
Steps:
- Remove the wrapper and clean the container with soapy water, make it dry.
- Now cut a piece of burlap as the size of the container.
- Then wrap the container with this burlap with the help of glue.
- Write or draw something on burlap by cone liner.
- Wrap the neck of the container with jute rope.
- And its ready to use.
- This containers I am using as penstands.
